Nominee Directors
Every company that is registered in Singapore must have at least one director who is locally resident (Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident or Entre Pass holder) in Singapore. This is a regulation of the Singapore Companies Act. If a foreigner incorporates a company in Singapore but does not have a local person who can act as a resident director of the new company, then the foreigner can “hire” a person to act as a director for a fee. Such a director is called a Nominee Director.
We can help you fulfil this requirement by appointing one of our team members to act as the nominee resident director for your Singapore company, on a short-term or annual basis. The Nominee Director is highly competent and has the required skill set needed to discharge his duties as a local director and to assist companies in fulfilling the requirements and guidelines as set out in the Companies Act and by the local Authorities.
